Plata by mono is a monobank acquiring service that allows you to pay for goods on the website using Visa and Mastercard cards of any bank, including via Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Effective December 1, 2022, monobank’s acquiring fee is 1.3% for payments made with cards issued by Ukrainian banks and 2% for payments made with cards issued by foreign banks.
To set up the plata by mono online acquiring service:
Open a sole proprietor account in the monobank app.
Log in to your monobank online account using your phone number or QR code.
In the left sidebar, click Add tool, and then Pay on the website.
Take a short survey about your business.
Set up your payment acceptance method using monobank's instructions.
Confirm the request in the monobank app.
How the integration works
After placing an order, the customer is redirected to the plata by mono payment page. Once the transaction is complete, the payment status for that order in the admin panel automatically changes to Payed: Yes.
Where to get the data needed to enable the integration
To obtain an integration token from monobank:
In the left sidebar of the monobank online account, go to the Pay on the website tab and click the Configure button.
Click the Create token button.
After creating the token, click Copy.
Please note: If the Configure button is not there, it means the token has already been created. Click Integrations, then To my website to copy the token.
Enabling the integration in the Cartum admin panel
You must use the copied token to activate the plata by mono payment system in your website's admin panel:
Go to Settings → Payment providers;
Find the plata by mono system;
Enter the token in the Token field;
Click Save.
You can also set a payment reference template here. By default, the value {SITE} Order №{ORDER_ID} is used, where {SITE} is your website’s URL and {ORDER_ID} is the order number. This information is displayed on the payment page and in the payment details.
Setting up the payment method
Now you can proceed to set up a payment method for customers:
In the Settings → Payment methods section, select the Credit Card (monobank) method.
Make sure the Type field is set to plata by mono.
If necessary, enter your own title and edit the settings.
Enable the payment option by checking the Active box.
Click Save.
Selecting shipping methods
After enabling and configuring the payment method, you must select which shipping options this method will be available for:
Go to the Settings → Shipping methods and carriers and click on the desired shipping method to edit it.
In the Payment field, check the Credit Card (monobank) box.
Click Save.
If your store has an integration with a PRRO system
If you use the Checkbox or Vchasno.Kasa PRRO systems, you must configure the transfer of the payment form to the fiscal receipt.
To do this, go to Settings → Payment methods → Credit Card (monobank) and select the appropriate option in the Payment method name on fiscal receipt field.
Plata by mono setup checklist
To make sure you don't miss anything, check that you've completed all of the following steps:
The connection token was received from Monobank and entered into the appropriate field under Settings → Payment providers;
The payment option Credit Card (monobank) has been configured and enabled;
Under Settings → Shipping methods and carriers, you've selected which shipping methods this payment option will be available for;
If you use a PRRO system, the transfer of the payment method to the fiscal receipt is configured.
How an order is paid
If a customer selects the corresponding shipping option when placing an order, the Credit Card (monobank) payment method becomes available to them.
When selecting this payment method, the customer proceeds to pay for the order immediately after completing the order form or after the order is confirmed by a manager, depending on which online payment mode is enabled on the website.
With the pre-moderation payment mode, the manager must manually confirm the order by clicking the Send payment link button in the general order table.
After that, the customer will receive an email with a payment link. Additionally, a button labeled To pay for your order will appear in the order details in the customer's account.
In the payment window, in addition to the total order cost, the payment description and product information are also displayed.
Payment link
In the general order table, a manager can quickly copy the link to the online payment page to send to a customer who hasn't paid for their order right away.
If online payment moderation is enabled on the website, the payment link is generated when you click the Send payment link button. After that, you can also copy the link to send it to the buyer separately.
