Online payment is a method that allows customers to quickly pay for their orders and increases the website’s conversion rate. In addition, offering online payment is one of the mandatory requirements for placing product listings on Google Shopping.
To accept online payments for orders, you need to activate one of the payment systems for which Cartum offers ready-made integrations, and to set up the corresponding payment option. The list of available systems depends on your region.
To set up online card payments:
Register your store with one of the payment systems and obtain unique identifiers to activate the system on your website.
Activate the payment system in the website's admin panel using these identifiers.
Enable the desired online payment method in the website's admin panel.
Select the shipping methods for which this payment method will be available.
Enabling integration in the Cartum admin panel
In the Settings → Payment providers admin panel section, you'll find a list of available payment systems. The page also features a convenient search function. Payment systems that are already connected are listed at the top of the page in alphabetical order.
To activate the payment system:
Copy the information required to activate the payment system.
Find the desired payment system under Settings → Payment providers and enter the identifiers values in the corresponding fields.
Click Save.
Setting up the payment method
Now you can proceed to set up the payment method for customers:
In the Settings → Payment methods section, select the desired payment method.
Make sure the Type field is set to a value that corresponds to the payment method.
If necessary, enter your own title and edit the settings.
Enable the payment method by checking the Active checkbox.
Click Save.
Selecting delivery options
After connecting and configuring the payment method, you must select which delivery options this method will be available for:
Go to the Settings → Shipping methods and carriers section and click on the desired shipping method to edit it.
In the Payment field, check the box next to the desired payment option.
Click Save.
Now, customers will be able to select the corresponding payment method and proceed to checkout immediately after completing their order or after the order is confirmed by a manager, depending on which online payment options are available on the website.
