You can set up notifications for new orders in Telegram via Gmail Bot using Gmail and the Telegram app on your smartphone or PC.
To receive notifications, you need to:
Connect the Gmail address to which you receive order notifications to the Telegram bot.
If necessary, set up email filtering in your Gmail account.
Connecting the Telegram bot to Gmail
The email address you connect to the robot should receive notifications for new orders. Make sure that this email address is specified for one of the website users in Settings → Users, and the Activate email notifications box is checked for this user.
To connect a bot:
Open the Gmail Bot in the Telegram app.
Click Start and then Authorize me.
In the Google authorization window, select the account with the desired mail and confirm that Gmail Bot is allowed to access the account.
In the Telegram program, click the Start button.
You've set up the connection between your Gmail box and Telegram, and now notifications of all new letters to this mailbox will be sent to the messenger.
Filtering bot messages
If you use this email address only to receive notifications for new orders, you do not need to do anything else.
If you receive other emails to this mailbox, you can configure the bot to receive only notifications for new orders.
To do this, go to your Gmail account:
Click the gear icon in the upper right corner, then click See all settings. Go to the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab and click Create a new filter.
Create a new filter searching for Has the words parameter, enter the value from the new order email header — "New order is placed", and then click Create filter.
In the filter settings, check the Apply the label checkbox and choose an existing label or create a new one (for example, New order).
Click Create filter again.
In the Telegram bot:
In the bot chat, type the /settings command, and the settings menu will open.
Select Whitelist labels and specify the label you created in the email.
From now on, only those messages that have this label will be displayed in Telegram.
Callback request notifications
Similarly, you can set up notifications for callback requests (email subject line — "User requests call back").
Gmail Bot useful commands
You can use the following commands in the bot chat:
/stop — stop sending notifications to Telegram;
/start — resume sending notifications to Telegram.
