Paysera is a Lithuanian payment system that has been operating in the market for over 16 years and serves customers worldwide.
Paysera Checkout is a convenient and popular tool for processing online payments that allows you to accept payments in various countries and currencies — via credit card, online banking, and other popular payment methods.
To set up the Paysera payment acceptance service:
Sign up for Paysera through the mobile app and complete the identity verification process;
Configure the necessary settings for your payment project in your Paysera account.
How integration works
After placing an order, the customer is redirected to the Paysera payment page. Once the transaction is complete, the payment status for that order in the admin panel automatically changes to Payed: Yes.
Where to get the data needed to activate the integration
In the My projects → Project settings → General project settings section of the Paysera admin panel, you will find the following information to activate the integration:
Project ID;
Project password;
Verify token.
The last parameter can be found in the code window under the message «Website ownership has not been verified! Please add the code to the site header <head></head> area and press the "Check" button». You need to copy the ID between the quotation marks in the code.
How to activate the payment system in Cartum
To enable integration with Paysera in the Cartum admin panel:
Go to Settings → Payment providers.
Find the Paysera block and click Connect.
Enter Project ID, Project password, and Verify token in the corresponding fields and save your changes.
After that, return to your Paysera account and click the Verify button to confirm ownership of the website.
The Test mode (sandbox) toggle in the payment system settings activates test mode, which allows you to verify that the system is working correctly on your website. At the same time, you need to enable test payments in the Paysera Checkout Settings section of the Paysera admin panel. Once testing is complete, disable test mode to start accepting payments.
To start accepting actual payments, you need to submit a request for Paysera to approve your project. To do this, click the Submit for review button next to your project ID. Approval takes one business day.
Setting up the payment method
In the Cartum admin panel:
Go to Settings → Payment methods and select the Online payment (Paysera) payment method.
Make sure that Paysera is selected in the Type field.
If necessary, enter a custom name for the payment option and edit the settings.
Enable the payment option by checking the Active box.
Click Save.
Selecting delivery options
After enabling and configuring the payment method, you must select which delivery options this method will be available for:
Go to the Settings → Shipping methods and carriers section and click on the desired shipping method to edit it.
In the Payment field, check the Online payment (Paysera) box.
Click Save.
Paysera setup checklist
To make sure you don't miss anything, check that you've completed all of the following steps:
The credentials were obtained from Paysera and entered into the appropriate fields under Settings → Payment systems;
Ownership of the website has been verified in the Paysera admin panel;
The Online payment (Paysera) payment method has been configured and enabled;
Under Settings → Shipping methods and carriers, the delivery methods for which this payment option will be available are selected.
The payment system was tried in test mode;
The project has been approved by Paysera and has been switched to live payment mode.
How the payments are processed
If a customer selects the appropriate shipping option when placing an order, the Online payment (Paysera) payment option becomes available to them.
When selecting this payment method, the customer proceeds to pay for the order immediately after completing the order form or after the order is confirmed by a manager, depending on which online payment options are enabled on the website.
Under the payment pre-moderation option, the manager must manually confirm the order by clicking the Send payment link button in the general order table.
The customer will then receive an email containing a payment link. A button labelled To pay for your order will also appear in the order details in the customer’s account.
After clicking the To pay for your order button in the account dashboard (or Proceed to checkout if online payment moderation is disabled), the buyer will be redirected to the Paysera payment page.
Payment link
In the general order table, a manager can quickly copy the link to the online payment page to send to a customer who has not yet paid for their order.
If online payment moderation is enabled on the website, the payment link is generated when you click the Send payment link button. You can then copy this link to send it to the buyer separately.
