Setting up a user agreement, user agreement in the checkout form

Updated over a month ago

User agreement is a document in which the website owner describes:

  1. Terms of personal data handling;

  2. Rules of registration and use of the site;

  3. The procedure for ordering and paying for goods;

  4. Terms of delivery of goods;

  5. The possibility of returning the goods;

  6. Limitation of liability of the website owner;

  7. The procedure for making changes to the website.

User agreement at checkout

There are two options for displaying the user agreement:

1. Text — next to the Checkout button, a message is displayed stating that the buyer accepts the terms of the user agreement, along with a link to the agreement. The message is displayed on the checkout page and in the quick order window.

2. Checkbox and text — a checkbox for acceptance of the user agreement is displayed above the Checkout button along with a link to the agreement. If the checkbox is not selected, the Checkout button will be inactive.

In both cases, clicking on the link opens a modal window with the user agreement text.

How to enable

The option is enabled and configured in the admin panel in the Settings General settings Checkout section.

User agreement text

The text is placed on a separate page in the site structure: WebsitePages User Agreement. By default, the page is hidden, and the text of the agreement is displayed only in the modal window during checkout. To make the page available to all site visitors, select the Show on storefront checkbox and save the page.

Message text next to the Proceed to checkout button

The message is edited in the Website Interface translation section.
