Integration with Kasta Marketplace

How to connect integration with the Kasta marketplace, correct product listing for Kasta, uploading products, updating stock and prices

Kasta.ua — a Ukrainian marketplace with products for a comfortable life, which has been successfully operating in the market for over 12 years. Kasta mainly sells clothing and footwear, but every year the number of categories represented on the marketplace grows — including home goods, children's products, household appliances, groceries, and much more.

Recently, Kasta offered entrepreneurs a new type of cooperation — Kasta Marketplace. Sellers can list their products on the Kasta website to receive new orders, which they will process personally.

Cartum has implemented integration with Kasta, which allows you to upload products to the Kasta cabinet via API and automatically update their availability and prices. The integration is available starting from the Standard plan.

What needs to be done before connecting the integration

Before you start selling your products on Kasta using the site integration with the marketplace cabinet, you need to carefully study the sales conditions, register, and sign a contract.

To register on Kasta Marketplace:

  1. Submit a registration application on Kasta, specifying the code word Cartum in the comment — this is necessary for the correct operation of the integration and cabinet.

  2. Wait for a Kasta manager to contact you and provide you with access to the personal cabinet in the marketplace.

  3. Make the necessary settings in the cabinet according to Kasta's instructions.

  4. Provide all necessary documents and sign a contract with Kasta.

Preparing products for upload

Simultaneously with the process of signing the contract, start preparing products for upload to Kasta according to the platform's rules. Kasta has a list of mandatory requirements for the correct formation of the product name, description, and filling in product characteristics, so do not waste time and start preparing the product even before signing the contract.

In the Kasta personal cabinet, you need to fill in the seller information and describe the available payment and delivery options. To do this, go to Settings and fill in the fields in the Seller Information and Payment and Delivery tabs.

Authorization token in Kasta

In the Kasta personal cabinet, obtain a token for authorization. To do this, go to Settings → tab API → button Get token.

In the popup that opens, copy the token. In the next step, you need to specify it in the Cartum admin panel.

Attention: Kasta does not display the token in full in the cabinet — if you did not copy the token in time, you will have to create a new one.

Connect the store to Kasta:

  1. Go to Settings → General Settings → Kasta: Authorization.

  2. Paste the authorization token into the Token field.

  3. If you want to automatically update prices and stock, check the box Automatic price and stock updates.

  4. Save the changes.

With automatic updates, new prices and stock will be transmitted to Kasta once a day at night.

If you did not choose the option for automatic price and stock updates, you can do it manually on the upload generation page.

Go to Marketing → Marketplaces and enable the Kasta item.

Now you can proceed to the synchronization settings of the category and parameters. Prepare the content in advance according to the marketplace requirements.

Preparing content for upload to Kasta marketplace

Products for placement on the Kasta marketplace must meet certain conditions. To ensure that your items are correctly uploaded via API and appear for sale on the platform, prepare them properly.

For products, the following must be filled in:

  • Product name (ua and ru);

  • Product description or Description for marketplaces;

  • Price;

  • All mandatory characteristics for the selected category;

  • Brand.

Note: the modification name is not uploaded to the marketplace — the Product Name field must be filled in.

Categories and mandatory characteristics

Before starting the setup, familiarize yourself with the categories of the Kasta marketplace. You need to choose which categories you will upload products to and ensure that the mandatory characteristics values are filled in for the products. The list of mandatory characteristics is set for each category separately.

Note that according to the marketplace requirements, if you have a general category of Jackets and it contains both men's and women's products, you need to create additional sections (e.g., Men's Jackets and Women's Jackets) and move the products to such categories. Only then will the products fall into the appropriate category on Kasta.

You can study the category list in Marketing → Marketplaces → Kasta → Set up categories. The full list of categories can be seen in the dropdown list in the field on the right side.

You can also study the available categories and the list of mandatory characteristics in the Kasta cabinet. To do this:

  1. Go to Products Import new items and select the Template generation tab.

  2. Select the desired category from the list.

  3. Click Generate template and download the Excel file.

  4. In the file, go to the Characteristics sheet.

Attention: all mandatory characteristics are marked with an asterisk. They must be filled in for sales on Kasta.

In this file, you can also view other useful information, such as the size chart or a list of available values for a specific characteristic.

Note: in the Size attribute, which is displayed on the marketplace pages as Size on the label, the value of the characteristic that is matched with Kasta Size will be transmitted.

Product name

Be sure to check and fill in the Name field in the product settings, as Kasta receives data from this field. Indicate the product name with a capital letter; it is prohibited to add brand, color, article, barcode, or line name to the name.

Product description

By default, the standard product description without HTML tag support is included in the upload. However, if your product descriptions contain a lot of unnecessary information not related to the product, we recommend using a separate Description for marketplaces field.

Brand

The brand of the product for Kasta must match the exclusive list of marketplace brands. You can view this list on a separate page. The spelling of the brand must match what is set on Kasta.

If your brand is not on the list, write to the Kasta manager at [email protected] with a request to add the brand.

Photo requirements

Prepare images of your products for import according to Kasta's requirements. If the image sizes on your site do not meet Kasta's requirements (1035*1440 px), you can still try to import the products. We will programmatically adjust the sizes during import.

Please note that if you have identical images added in the Photo field for modifications, all such photos will be imported to Kasta, resulting in duplicate images on the product page on Kasta. To prevent duplication, identical images for all modifications should be added to the Gallery field.

Attention: it is important to name products according to Kasta's requirements, otherwise they will not pass moderation and you will need to delete the products and then import them again.

If you need to delete products and upload them again, be sure to inform our support service.

Setting product prices for Kasta

After activating the integration with the Kasta marketplace, a new price block will appear for the products:

  • Old price for Kasta — crossed-out price on the Kasta site;

  • Price for Kasta — the actual selling price of the product with a discount, at which the product will be sold in the catalog;

  • Promotional price for Kasta — the selling price of the product with a discount from the actual selling price for participation in promotions.

The logic for transmitting the price to Kasta is as follows: if the Price for Kasta field is filled in, then the Price for Kasta and Old price for Kasta will be transmitted to Kasta. If the Price for Kasta is not filled in, then prices will be transmitted from the standard Price and Old price fields.

Promotional price for Kasta is always transmitted to the marketplace. You need to fill in this field if you want the product to participate in regular marketplace promotions.

Uploading products to Kasta

In the properties of each product that should be uploaded to the marketplace, you need to specify uploading to Kasta.

For manual changes in the admin panel:

  1. Go to the Products section and select the desired product.

  2. In the Product Description → Main Information section, check the box Kasta in the Upload to marketplaces item.

  3. Save the changes.

For mass settings, use import. The import file must contain the Upload to marketplaces column with the feed name — Kasta.

If the product needs to be uploaded to several feeds, you must specify all names separated by a delimiter (;).

Please note that if you have already uploaded products to Kasta, they will not be deleted if you remove the checkmark from the Upload to marketplaces checkbox.

Products must be deleted in the Kasta cabinet, and you must also inform Cartum support about the deletion.

Setting categories and characteristics

After enabling Kasta, you need to match the sections and characteristics of your catalog with Kasta categories. Go to the category settings page: Marketing → Marketplaces → Kasta → button Set up categories.

In the window that opens, click Synchronize categories to load the current data from the marketplace.

At this stage, you need to choose which categories of your site should be uploaded to the Kasta marketplace:

  1. Click the Add category button.

  2. In the window, select the product template and Kasta category for upload. The same template can be selected multiple times.

  3. Click the Add button.

  4. After the template is added, select the sections for upload to the selected Kasta category. If you need to upload products from subsections, they need to be selected separately.

Characteristic settings

To set up, click the Characteristics button. In the left column of the window, you will see a list of your product parameters from the product template, and on the right — a selection of available Kasta parameters.

Attention: characteristics marked with an asterisk are mandatory for matching.

Click Match automatically, the system will automatically match possible characteristics. Check the results. Those characteristics that could not be matched by the algorithm will need to be matched manually if necessary.

Characteristics marked as select and multi select contain set values (analogous to Directories in Cartum) and require additional matching of these values.

We recommend filling in as many characteristics as possible and matching them with Kasta values, then the products will be shown in various filters and, accordingly, more potential buyers will be able to see them.

Uploading products to the Kasta cabinet

First upload

To upload products to Kasta, on the Marketing → Marketplaces page, click Upload new products. In the window that opens, you will see the number of new products that can be uploaded.

Attention: we recommend uploading no more than 500 products at a time — this helps avoid overloading the import module.

To upload, click Upload products to Kasta HUB. Processing and adding new products may take some time.

Upload results and typical errors

After the upload is complete, you will receive a report to your email. The report will be sent to the address specified in the profile of the site manager who initiated the upload process.

The report will contain indications of errors if any occurred during the upload.

Product moderation on the marketplace

In the Kasta cabinet, the products you uploaded will be shown on the New Products tab until moderation is completed by the marketplace manager. After moderation, the products are moved to another status. For products in the New status, prices and stock will not be updated.

If in Settings → General Settings → Kasta: Authorization you selected the Automatic price and stock updates option, then these product properties will be updated automatically.

Automatic updates occur once a day at night. If stock tracking is not enabled on the site, a quantity of 10 units will be transmitted for available products.

Otherwise, you can do this manually in Marketing → Marketplaces → Kasta. To update, click the Update products button, then select Update availability and prices.

Deleting products from the marketplace

You can delete products that you no longer plan to sell on the marketplace only in the Kasta cabinet. Also inform our support about the need to delete products.

Please note that removing the checkmark from the Upload to marketplaces checkbox in the product properties or canceling the category matching does not lead to product deletion.
