The EU Omnibus Directive is a legislative act that covers various areas of consumer rights protection in the EU. One of the goals of this directive is to ensure price and discount transparency for online store customers.
In particular, this directive requires online stores, when announcing discounts, to show the lowest price for the last 30 days before the discount starts. Information about this lowest price must be placed on the Product page.
Option: Lowest price in the last 30 days
You can enable the display of the field with the lowest price for the last 30 days in the store admin panel under Settings → General settings → the checkbox Enable the “Lowest price for 30 days before the discount” field.
When the checkbox is enabled, an additional field Lowest price for 30 days before the discount will appear on the Product edit page.
The price from this field will be displayed in the mini card, on the Product page, and in additional Product blocks.
Displaying discounts for Products
If the lowest price for 30 days is specified for a Product, the discount percentage in the automatic label will be calculated from that price.
For example, the Product currently costs UAH 1000, it has an old price of UAH 1500, and the lowest price for the last 30 days before the promotion starts is UAH 1200. In this case, the discount percentage in the automatic sticker will be calculated from the price of UAH 1200 and will be 17%.
Please note: Cartum currently does not have a feature for automatically calculating the lowest price for 30 days from the start date of the discount. Data on the lowest price calculated in an inventory system can be transferred via import and when updating Product data via the API.
Hint text on the Product page and in the mini card
The text of the label in the block and the hint text can be changed in Online store → Interface translation under the key Lowest price for 30 days before the discount.
