How to Connect a Consent Banner from CookieScript to a Website

Consent Banner for Cookie Usage — this message appears during a user's first visit to a particular site. It informs visitors about the tracking tools used by the site and allows them to choose which cookies they permit to be stored on their devices.

If your site operates from the European Union or targets EU citizens, you must obtain user consent before setting cookies.

How to install a consent banner from CookieScript on your site

To configure a consent banner from CookieScript on your site:

1. Register for the CookieScript service.

2. Configure the banner in your service account according to its instructions.

3. Copy the script code of the banner and install it on the site.

How to install the script code on the online store

After completing the initial configuration of the banner, including its language, colors, and page position, the service will provide a script code that needs to be copied.

In the Cartum admin panel:

  1. Go to Settings → General Settings → Scripts.

  2. Place the CookieScript code in the Scripts inside <head> tag field.

  3. Save the changes.

Visitors accessing the site for the first time will see the cookie consent banner.

Cookie usage report

After scanning the site in the CookieScript account, you can obtain a report on the specific cookies your site uses. This report can be added to your Privacy Policy.

​In the CookieScript account:

  1. Go to Dashboard → Install.

  2. Copy the script from the Cookie report code field.​


​In the Cartum admin panel:

  1. In Site → Pages, select the necessary informational page where the Privacy Policy is located.

  2. In the Text field in Source editor mode, add the script code where you want it to appear in the policy text.

  3. Save the changes.

On the page, site visitors will see a list of cookies used by the site, with a description of their purpose and duration.
