Types of additional product blocks, setting up blocks with related products on the product page, block with related products in the cart

Updated over a week ago

You can add several blocks with additional products to the product page. These blocks can have different names and content generation logic.

In addition, products from these blocks can be displayed in the shopping cart in the We also recommend you to buy section. In the shopping cart, products from all blocks are displayed in one line.

Additional product blocks

There are three such blocks in total:

  1. Similar products — products with similar parameters;

  2. See also — products from the same category;

  3. Accessories — related products (accessories).

You can display all the blocks at once or some of them.

Setting up blocks

By default, all three blocks are enabled. They are displayed on the page if there are products that meet the conditions set for the block.

You can enable and disable each of the blocks independently. To do this, go to the Website Design Design editor section of the admin panel, expand the Product page item and go to the Page layout tab. Then expand the Associated products element and check the boxes next to the blocks you need.

You can also change the position of the blocks on the page. To do this, drag the Associated products element to the desired location in the editor.

The support team will help you at your request:

  • To configure the block to be displayed only if there are no relevant products in the previous block;

  • To swap the blocks.

Block headers

You can change the name of any block on the page using the Interface Translation feature.

Similar products

This block displays products with similar characteristics. To configure the parameters by which the selection will be performed, go to the editing of the corresponding section of the catalog and enable the required characteristics in the Similar attributes list.

Parameters to define similar products — Cartum

If the product has at least one characteristic that matches, it will be displayed in the Similar products block.

At your request, support specialists can enable the display of products in the block only if the values of all selected characteristics match.

Items from the category in which the product is located are randomly included in this block.

Accessories

You create a list of products that will be displayed in this block by yourself. There are two ways to set up accessories for a product.

How to add accessories to a product

Manually

This can be done in the product properties in the Related products → Related products block.

You can assign both a specific product and a catalog category as an accessory — in this case, the carousel will contain products from this section in the block.

Note: for correct operation, we recommend adding no more than 16 specific accessories for each product. When adding categories, you should only select categories of the last (lowest) level.

Adding accessories to a product — Cartum

In bulk using import

  1. In the admin panel, go to Products and export products in Excel (extended) format.

  2. In the table, fill in:

    • The Accessories(products) column with the product SKUs;

    • The Accessories(categories) column with the names of the categories;

  3. If you need to specify several products or categories, use the ";" separator (semicolon).

  4. For convenience, you can leave only the SKU and accessory columns in the table, and import the file to your website.

If accessories have already been specified for the product, new products/categories will be added to the existing ones during import.

If you need to remove accessories, leave the corresponding columns blank when importing.
